42 Billion Dollars Would Buy A Lot of Reefer

According to new research America’s marijuana laws cost taxpayers $42 billion dollars per year in law enforcement costs and lost tax revenues. You can read the study at this link. I’ve never understood why we don’t just regulate marijuana. You’re talking about a cash crop that is more valuable than corn and wheat combined. And I’m not some bong toking slacker who’d bust a nut if pot was legal. I mean, I used to be a bong toking slacker, but those days are long gone. Now I’m just a slacker. I simply don’t understand why marijuana should be illegal. Maybe someone can play devil’s advocate here, but as I see it, this is yet another example of our government’s short sighted stubbornness.
