Duct Tape in the News

I was perusing DuctBills this morning, a site all about the sticky stuff, and came to a post about duct tape on Google News. Apparently the news at the time wasn’t flattering. You know, no “The judicious use of duct tape saves kids trapped in a burning school bus” more like “Man uses duct tape to wrap grandmother in cellophane.”

So I was like, hmmm, wonder if there’s any interesting duct tape news today. So I tickle the Google and come up with not much, but at the bottom of the page is this little nugget.

That last headline is weird enough, kinda a creepy non-sequitor after the comma made worse by the short excerpt, until you read the article, and then it makes sense, but it’s still kinda weird, but look at those related searches for duct tape. Could be just me, but I find them highly amusing.

On a related note, seems there’s a Duct Tape Festival. So if you’re in the neighborhood of Avon, Ohio this June 13th through the 15th you might want to drop what you’re doing and give the party a look.
