Henry David Thoreau on Writing

“How vain it is to sit down to write when you have not stood up to live.” - Henry David Thoreau

Writing is as close to giving birth as I will ever get. The beauty of it is the words never die, and evolve in ways I could have never envisioned. I’ve often though in order to write well, to give life to word, it’s important to live well. What is well? Suppose it depends on the person, but I’d imagine living a bold and brave life will make your words bold and brave. In any event, well said Henry.
