But readability and dumbing down are often confused and confusing.
My natural style is to write long texts on things I feel strongly about (Roleplaying games and Human Interactions in those games).
The readers of my site are really smart and I’ve seen that they understand what I write about perfectly well. Still, my blog is read mostly during lunch hours and people can invest only so many minutes in them.
So I guess I should try to curb my verbiage and get to the point faster… but then this ends up not being my natural style and affects my groove
Concise = good, Dumbing Down = bad.
September 27th 2007 - 2:41pmWell, ChattyDM, you could always pull one of my favorite tricks, split it up into more than one post. That way I have an excuse to come back and read more later! By the way, I’m off to check out your blog. I’m relatively new to gaming, but find it absolutely fascinating, especially when observing the experts.
I think that developing and sticking to your own style goes hand in hand with writing something that is no less intellegent than you. (I have a feeling the grammar in that sentence is totally off, but what do you expect from someone who hangs out with toddlers all day?)
September 27th 2007 - 8:00pmLol! Mine are 4 and 5 now. They’re bilingual French and English like we are (native: French), only they haven’t quite mastered separating both languages, which makes for a very confusing set of grammar rules at home.
My daughter will use a French sentence structure but use English nouns here and there quite often.

Thanks for checking my site. It’s quite dense as it’s written for initiates of the hobby. Do check out the Webcomics section.
Questionable Content is an awesome comic that you should check if you’re into that kinda media.
